Boxing Classes

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

To participate in our beginners boxing training classes, you will need to have the following equipment:

  1. Boxing Gloves: A pair of boxing gloves is essential for protecting your hands and wrists during training sessions. We recommend starting with gloves that are appropriate for your size and skill level.
  2. Hand Wraps: Hand wraps provide additional support and protection for your hands and wrists by stabilizing the bones and tendons. They are worn underneath your boxing gloves and help reduce the risk of injury.
  3. Skipping Rope: A skipping rope, also known as a jump rope, is a fundamental tool for improving agility, footwork, and cardiovascular fitness in boxing. It’s an effective way to warm up before training and develop coordination.
 

You have the option to either purchase this equipment yourself and bring it to class or purchase boxing equipment directly from our gym. We offer a selection of high-quality gear to suit your needs.

Once you have been training for a period of time and feel ready to progress to sparring, you will need additional sparring equipment, including:

  1. 16 Ounce Boxing Gloves: Sparring gloves are typically larger and more padded than training gloves to minimize the risk of injury to both you and your sparring partner.
  2. Headgear: Headgear provides protection for your head and face during sparring sessions, reducing the risk of cuts, bruises, and concussions.
  3. Mouth Guard: A mouth guard is essential for protecting your teeth and jaw from impact during sparring. It helps absorb and dissipate the force of punches to minimize the risk of dental injuries.
 

Before purchasing sparring equipment, we recommend consulting with your trainer to ensure you select the appropriate gear for your level of experience and training goals. Our knowledgeable staff are available to provide advice and assistance with selecting the right equipment for you.
